WAYUU TAYA BAGS

Wayuu Taya is a non-profit organisation founded in 2002 by former Chanel model Patricia Velasquez. It aims to help improve the standards of living in poorer South American areas.  The bags are created by women from the Wayuu community, a people who live between Venezula and Columbia. For Wayuu women, weaving is a skill that symbolises creativity, intelligence and wisdom. Each bag takes one woman over 160 hours to make and as they are hand made, every single one is slightly different. Proceeds from each bag go back into the Foundation.

They have taken on a kind of cult status in the US and we can understand why. The colours are so vivid its hard to believe and they are the perfect antidote to that longed for island holiday. Its love at first sight! From IVY'S RULE - Coming Soon!
